THE BRIEF
The Imagination Collaborative was approached by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW and Sydney Showground to draft detailed plans of the Sydney Olympic Park precinct. Our task was to ensure that the plans were comprehensive and accurately detailed, facilitating the smooth execution of future events within the space. These detailed base plans were used as the foundation to build plans for many events including the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2024.

THE PROCESS
Utilising the incredible power and flexibility of Vectorworks, we developed a custom plug in tool specifically designed to geo-reference each drafted structure and activation within the event. This innovation ensured seamless integration of the Vectorworks geodata into the Sydney Royal Easter Show navigation app. We provided precise spatial schematics, which were crucial for accurate and user-friendly navigation. By mapping the event in this manner, we enabled app users to access augmented reality features, enhancing their overall experience.

THE END RESULT
The precision and detail of our plans proved to be an invaluable resource for the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2024. The map on the navigation app, enriched by our geo-referenced event overlay, was used over 465,000 times during the event. Attendees were able to navigate the event effortlessly and use an augmented reality experience, significantly elevating their enjoyment. The success of our service demonstrated the critical role of detailed planning and innovative technology in enhancing large scale events.
Working with Imagination Collaborative was an absolute game changer for our venue. Their expertise in updating our CAD plans into an all in one geo-referenced Vectorworks file streamlined our operations and enhanced our planning capabilities. With the addition of geo-referencing, we were able to transform our Sydney Royal Easter Show app and website navigation, making it easier for guests and vendors to find their way across our massive 40 hectare site.
